United Rugby Championship: Ulster 42 Dragons 21

On Friday evening, Ulster faced the Dragons in their first competitive outing of the season in the United Rugby Championship.

Aaron Wainwright opened the Dragons account in 10 seconds

A misfielded kick-off and a hack through by Aaron Wainwright, which he gathered to score, inside 10 seconds left the crowd bewildered. Tinus de Beer’s conversion had Ulster 0-7 down in under a minute.

Ulster steadied, and Cormac Izuchukwu drove over from close range. Nathan Doak’s conversion tied the score at 7 a piece, after 11 minutes.

Jared Rossiter added the Dragons second try

Dragons responded with a Jared Rossiter try in the corner. Tinus de Beer’s conversion restored the Dragons lead . . .
