On Wednesday afternoon Strabane Academy made the long trip to Carrickfergus to play Carrickfergus Grammar in a Schools Cup Qualifying Tie.

Alex McAllister added 2 tries, 5 conversions and a penalty goal to Carrick’s total

Carrick were fast off the mark. Alex McAllister was fed on the left wing and found space to dot down under the posts. He converted his own try and Carrick led 7-0 after 2 minutes.

Jonathan Orr scored a brace of tries and a conversion for Strabane

Not to be outdone Strabane replied after 6 minutes. Jonathan Orr dummied in midfield and found a gaping hole in the Carrick defence, before scoring wide out on the left . . .
