On Friday evening Instonians 2XV faced Bangor in a Junior Cup tie at Shawsbridge.
After over 10 minutes of Instonians pressure, Bangor broke out and added the first score of the game when Aaron Corbett got in, at the left corner to put Bangor 5-0 up on 11 minutes.

Instonians response was quick. Fast ball released Alex Place on the right to score in the corner to tie the score at 5-5 after 15 minutes.
On 21 minutes Alan Whitten pounced on a poorly defended lineout tap back to put Instonians 10-5 to the good.
Instonians pack began to dominate the set pieces. Ryan Gillan was at the base of a maul to claim a 33rdminute try, converted by Andrew Keane, to put Instonians 17-5 up at halftime.
After the break Bangor were sharply out of the traps . . .
