On Saturday afternoon Cooke faced Ballymoney, at Shawsbridge, in a Championship One league fixture. The promised deluge was in full flow creating challenging handling conditions. A stiff wind blew across the pitch. Only the intensity of the rain varied during the game.
Cooke put together some possession and took the lead in the 10th minute, when Ryan Flavelle darted over, from close to the line. Andy McMurray’s conversion had Cooke leading 7-0.
The game became bogged down in midfield with knock on, following scrum following, knock on. Both teams found it hard to come to terms with the conditions.

Eventually Ballymoney found possession, inside the Cooke 22. Lewis Hawthorne found space to squeeze over under the posts. Chris Watson’s conversion had the teams tied at 7 a piece, after 23 minutes.
The game then stagnated, between the 22, before Chris Watson’s 40th minute . . .
