Late Friday afternoon, an Ulster ‘A’ Academy side played Ireland U20 in a training match at Gibson Park, as a warmup, prior to the U20 World Championship, played this year in Lomdardia and Veneto, Italy. Both teams named enlarged squads for the game.

In a lively start Ireland took the lead, after 3 minutes, when Luke Murphy drove over from close range for 5-0.

Ulster were slow to settle and were cut open when Ireland attacked from deep for Paidi Farrell to run in and score beside the posts. Tom Wood’s conversion made it 12-0 on 6 . . .
