We caught up with the Ulster Hockey Senior 1 match between Larne and Rndalstown at Larne Gammar on Wednesday evening. Larne were looking for a win or a draw to claim promotion for the third season on the bounce, a remarkable achievement.
Randalstown, despite being in the hunt for most of the seaason, had dropped off the pace in recent weeks but they were always going to be a danger having beaten Larne in the Senior Cup in their last visit to Larne Grammar.

As expected it was a fairly tight first quarter. Randalstown set the pace early on but Larne battled back towards the end of the quarter which ended without a score.
It was a fiesty second quarter with both sides getting warnings. The home team looked to be edging ahead in terms of territory and possession as their attempts at goal increased but we went inot . . .
