We caught up with the Club U14 Bowl Final between Monaghan and Ballymena on a cold and damp Saturday morning at Meadowbank Arena.
Monaghan got of to a flying start with a successful penalty, after 2 minutes, from their No. 8 Conan Murphy. 3 – 0.
In an even game the teams battled it out over the next 20 minutes before Monaghan’s center Nathan McGuinness broke clear on the left for the opening try and a 8 – 0 lead.
Ballymena pilled on the pressure and hit back, six minutes later, with a try from Niall Higgins to take the score to 8 – 5 at half time.

Monaghan went further ahead at the start of the second half when Murphy went over for a try to add to his penalty which pushed the score out to 13 – 5.
