We caught up with the Ulster Hockey Schoolgirls Senior Cup between Belfast Royal Academy and Ballymena Academy at Stormont Pavilion on Monday afternoon.
BRA were quick out of the blocks in this one picking up a goal on the second minute from Alex Snoddy for a 1 – 0 lead.
Ballymena worked hard to get back into the game but BRA continued to create chances in the first quarter which thy dominated. However there were no further goals and the teams went into the second quarter with BRA defending the one goal lead.
The second quarter was fairly even with both side’s creating chances but defences, just about, stood firm and we went into the second half with the score still at 1 – 0
