We caught up with the Ulster Hockey Schoolgirls Senior Cup between Portadown College and The Royal School Armagh on Wednesday evening at Stormont Pavilion.
These two schools, the best two schoolgirls sides in Ireland, have been pushing each other to excel over the years and their hard work, and the skills they have individually developed, culminated in a classic final of celebration and heartache at Stormont on Wednesday evening.
Having covered many senior and age grade cup and international matches in hockey and rugby over the years this has to be the best quality match of them all. Down pitch side the match built from the smouldering tension of the early exchanges to a raging forest fire of a finale with neither side prepared to loose. Fantastic stuff.
