Schools Trophy: Larne Grammar 19 Antrim Grammar 22 Final

Our second match at Pirrie Park on Wednesday was the Ulster Rugby Schools Trophy Final between Larne Grammar and Antrim Grammar.

Larne Grammar were quick out of the blocks and the opened the scoring after 5 minutes when Ryan McDowell picked up a Ethan Duncan chip to sprint clear to score close to the posts. Duncan added the extras for a 7 – 0 lead.

Antrim Grammar hit back 5 minutes later when Tom McNeilly intercepted a pass to sprint home from 30 meters out to tie the score, after Isaac Lynn converted.

In a lively opening quarter Larne were back in front five minutes later as Max Gault grounded the ball to give Larne a 12 – 7 lead.
