On a sunny but cool Tuesday afternoon Friends School met Royal Belfast Academical Institution in the Medallion Shield Final at the Kingspan Stadium.
The crowd had barely settled after kick off when Dylan Gray intercepted the ball and sprinted 80 metres to score under the posts. Rocco Steen’s conversion had Inst 7-0 up in under a minute of play.
Inst had more flashes before the game settled into a war of attrition in midfield. Both sides failed to take opportunities.
