We caught up with the Ulster Hockey Schoolboys Burney Plate Final between Grosvenor Grammar and Kilkeel High at Stormont Pavilion on Wednesday afternoon.
Both teams felt their way into the game during a cagey first ten minutes. Grosvenor looked to have the upper hand as the quarter progressed and a late penalty corner strike from saw Grosvenor take a 1 – 0 lead into Q2.
Grosvenor continued to push forward throughout Q2 with Kilkeel limited to a few breakouts but there were no further goals and the teams changed ends with the score still at 1 – 0 in Grosvenor’s favour.
