We caught up with the Ulster Hockey Schoolgirls Senior Cup quarter final between Sullivan Upper and Portadown College on Thursday afternoon at Sullivan.
This game was played at a different tempo than Wednesday’s quarter final at Newforge as captains Rebecca Beggs for Sullivan and Rebekah Lennon for Portadown took control early and moved their players round like a game of chess.
It was stalemate for most of the first quarter until Lennon forced the advantage at a penalty corner when her shot at goal was turned in by Evie Thompson to give the visitors a 0 – 1 lead.
