We caught up with the Ulster Hockey junior Plate match between Owls 2Xi and Belfast Harlequins 5XI under the Friday night lights at Roughfort.
After a delayed start the teams battled out a lively game. Owls looked to be enjoying he bulk of possession and the opened the scoring right at the end of Q1 as Jessica Hunter tapped in a pulled back cross for a 1 – 0 lead.
Owls continued to push forward in Q2 but Quins created a few chances on the break with their two young wingers seeing plenty of ball. However the solid Owls defence held firm and the teams changed ends with Owls still leading 1 – 0.
