We caught up with the Irish Junior Cup KO16 match between Ulster University Elks and Ards at Jordanstown Sports Village on Saturday afternoon.

In a very competitive game at Jordanstown, both teams produced some sparkling hockey in the first two periods without actually scoring. Both goalkeepers were kept busy without being too tested.

The third quarter continued in the same vein with some great attacking moves countered by some great defence and it took until early in the fourth quarter for the deadlock to be broken.
