We caught up with the McCambley Cup match between Academy 3XV and Randalstown 3XV at Roughfort on Saturday afternoon.
In a very even match, it was the home side who got off to a great start when scrum half, Chris Cooper went over early on, converting his own try to put Academy in front 7 – 0.

Despite Academy being held up a couple of times when threatening the try line, there was no further scoring until shortly before half time and it was the visitor’s No 2, Terry Hutchinson, who battered his way over to allow David McWhirter to take the sore to 7 – 7 at half time.
