Women’s AIL: Cooke 0 Railway Union 115

In the aftermath of Storm Darragh, the sole remaining fixture on at Shawsbridge was the Women’s All Ireland League tie between 9th placed Cooke and league leaders, Railway Union, from Dublin. A strong, cold wind blew down the pitch causing ball handling issues.

Ailsa Hughes scored a brace of tries for Railway Union

It didn’t take long for Railway to click into gear. Ailsa Hughes opened the scoring for Railway, after 7 minutes for a 5-0 lead.

Leah Tarpey scored a hat trick of tries for Railway Union

Tries followed from Amanda Berta, 12 and 17 minutes, Claire Boles, 12 minutes, Aoife McDermott 21 minutes Ailsa Hughes 24 minutes and a conversion from Amanda Berta.
