On Saturday at lunchtime Instonians faced City of Armagh in a Senior Cup Quarter Final Tie at Shawsbridge. A strong, bitingly cold wind, which blew down the pitch caused handling and kicking issues. Armagh played with the wind in the 1st half.
Armagh took the lead on 9 minutes courtesy of a Kyle Faloon short range penalty goal to lead 3-0.
Instonians dug deep into the wind running short forward drives with the backs combining. From a maul Neil Saulters drove over after 14 minutes for Instonians to lead 5-3.
Armagh couldn’t break a stubborn Instonians defence but finally found a gap for Rocky Olsen to exploit after 31 minutes. Kyle Faloon converted, and Armagh led 10-5.

On the stroke of halftime John Glasgow drove over to give Armagh a 15-5 halftime lead.
