On an increasingly gloomy Saturday afternoon, I took in the first half of the Forster Cup tie between Instonians 3rd XV and Grosvenor 2nd XV at Shaw’s Bridge.
Defences cancelled each other out. Though both teams attempted to run the ball well organized defences shut attacks down in a game mostly played between the 22s.
The solitary score of the 1st half was a penalty goal, kicked by Michael Hanson in the 8th minute.
Two 2nd half tries by TJ Pallin and Alex Spence, both converted by Michael Hanson settled the tie 17-0 in Inst’s favour to secure a place in the next round.
