Championship 2: CIYMS 42 Ards 10

I caught up with the Second half of the Championship 2 match between CIYMS and Ards while I was at Belmont Park on Saturday.

When I joined the match at half time CI were leading 21 – 5. CI tries came from Mark Scott, Paddy Beverland and Jason Gilliland, all converted by Jack Bonner. Ards replied with a try from Danny Patton.

I’m reliably informed Mark Scott’s 35 yard run for his try was the highlight of the first half.

There seemed to be a bit of niggle in the match as Ii looked to put the game game to bed against a resilient Ards. An early chance was ruled out before Matt Russell went over in the corner six minutes later. Bonner added the extras to move the score to 28 – 5.
