Championship 2: Carrickfergus 17 Academy 8

I caught up with the Championship 2 league match between Carrick and Academy at a cold and windy Tom Simms Park on Saturday afternoon.

I thought I’d give it a go sitting at the end the wind was blowing towards to catch the bulk of the action but as it turned out both teams defended well against the elements and most of the action was at the top end of the pitch.

The strong wind and low temperature meant that this one was far form a classic. Academy played the conditions well in the first half keeping the bulk of play in the Carrick half but the home side picked up scores on the few occasions they established themselves in the Academy 22.
