Schools Cup: Larne Grammar 5 Royal School Armagh 45 Group E

We caught up with the Ulster Schools Cup Group E match between Larne Grammar and the Royal School Armagh on Saturday morning in Larne.

Larne were pretty much under pressure from the start as Armagh controlled the breakdown. Despite an heroic rearguard defence from the home side the visitors finally found their way to the try line after 7 minutes as Thomas Dougan crossed from close range for the first try. Evan Hughes added the extras to give Armagh a 0 – 7 lead.

Thomas Dougan picked up a try in each half for Armagh.

The Royal School crossed fro their second try six minutes later as Charles Reaney went over in the same corner to take the score to 14 – 0 after Hughes’ conversion.
