I caught up with the Junior Cup clash between Owls 2XI and Bangor 2XI at Roughfort on Saturday afternoon.
It was a keenly contested game throughout. Owls looked to have the early advantage but Bangor made their chances count with the visitors scoring of their second concerted attack as Emma Raynor slotted in a penalty corner for a 0 – 1 lead, ten minutes in.
Bangor had the better of the second quarter and they extended their lead mid way through with Raynor knocking in a rebound to give Bangor a 0 – 2 lead.
Owls responded on the stroke of half time with the energetic Maya Campbell getting the final touch to take the score to 1 – 2 as teams changed ends.
