With the Women’s Premier game, at The Dub, between Queens and Omagh being postponed, I took in the Women’s Junior 6 clash between 6th placed, Queens 5th XI and 9th placed, Ballyclare 2nd XI.
Neither team could impose themselves in a scoreless 1st quarter, consequently the midfield became evermore congested, as forwards were starved of the ball.
The 2nd quarter was much more open, with both teams creating chances.
Queens pressed forward. Rachel Cheevers found space and rising shot hit the net, after 25 minutes to give Queens a 1-0 halftime lead.
The 3rd quarter was less than 2 minutes old when Abbie Gilliland struck for Ballyclare to tie the score at 1-1.
