Women’s Premiership: Queen’s University 24 Malone 5

I caught up with the Ulster Rugby Women’s Premiership match between Queen’s University and Malone on Sunday afternoon at The Dub.

I arrived at this match about 25 minutes into the first half with Queen’s leading 5 – 0 thanks to a Ciara Fitzsimons try.

The match was played in difficult conditions with a strong wind blowing down and across the pitch in favour of Malone who had the territorial advantage when I arrived.

Alexa McMullin picked up a try for Malone.

Malone eventually turned territory into points with a try in the left corner from Alexa McMullan who slid over to tie the game at 5 – 5 as the teams changed ends.

Queen’s played the conditions well with the boot of Fitzsimons keeping them in Malone territory for most of the second half.
