On Saturday evening I took in the1st half of Cooke’s Women’s All Ireland League clash with UL Bohemians, from Limerick. The overcast skies had now turned to a steady rain and a wind blew down the floodlit pitch.
Playing into the elements Cooke found it difficult to gain any territory, especially against a well drilled relentless and utterly ruthless Bohs side, who showed no mercy.

As a game progressed, so the weather deteriorated, the steady rain became a torrent, causing a whiteout under the lights.

Bohs led 41 – 0 at the break and it didn’t get any better for Cooke . . .
