The second Irish Hockey Interprovincial at Havelock Park on Sunday afternoon featured the Ulster and Leinster U18 Girls squads.
With Ulster sides winning every All Ireland Schoolgirl competition last season I expected them to win this one but their star studded forward line failed to fire as Leinster came out on top.
Leinster certainly got their tactics right as they worked hard to cut out Ulster’s long ball forcing the hosts to push higher up the pitch and leave space at the back for Leinster’s nippy forwards to exploit.
