I caught up with the magnificent Ulster U16 Girls at a damp Havelock Park on Sunday afternoon as they entertained their Leinster counterparts in the Hockey Ireland Interprovincial Series.
Both sides entered Sunday’s game having recorded wins in the competition, with Ulster one win from one game, and Leinster having to settle for one win and one draw.

It was a fairly even first half, played in a steady drizzle. Ulster probably edged the number of attacking chances but there weren’t many clear cut chances as the defences dominated in a lively enough game.
