We caught up with the Senior 2 Women’s Hockey Match match between Owls and Saintfield 1XI’s on Saturday afternon at Roughfort.
It was a lively first half with the players keen to get moving with a bit of a nip in the air despite the sunshine.
Owls opened the scoring after 15 minutes when Karen Brady found the net for a 1 – 0 lead.
However the lead only lasted 2 minutes as Saintfield pulled level through Rebecca McCallion to take the score to 1 – 1 at the end of Q1.
McCallion and Brady had their own personal battle in the second quarter as McCallion added her second a minute or so into Q2 to take the score to 1 – 2 in Saintfield’s favour.
