I caught up with the early season hit out between senior squads from Belfast Royal Academy and Coleraine Grammar at Roughfort on Saturday morning to cast my eye over Coleraine under their new coaching ticket of Kieran Campbell.
Both teams looked to have a fair number of 5th Form, or Year 12, players in their ranks and it was a typical early season match to give the coaches the chance to run their eye over the players.
The game was played over three 20 minute periods and I covered the first two.

BRA looked to settle the quickest and they game Coleraine plenty of tackle practice in the first period. However, Coleraine were generally up to the task but a bit of confusion at a defensive line out saw a BRA wing forward react quickly to pick up the opening try. It was the only score . . .
