I caught up with the early season Medallion Friendly between Larne Grammar and Banbridge Academy at Lower Cairncastle Road on Saturday morning.

This one kicked off ahead of schedule and by the time I got up from the hockey pitch Larne were leading 7 – 0.

Larne’s Benjamin Sterling crossed for their second try shortly after I arrived and, with Jonnie Kennedy adding the extras, Larne led 14 – 0.

Larne’s Benjamin Sterling crossed for three tries in the first half.

A break from deep saw Sterling add his second try shortly after and the rangy centre crossed again ten minutes later to push the score out to 26 – 0 after Kennedy added the conversion.
