I caught up with the Premier 1B clash between Banbridge and Instonians at Rifle Park on Saturday afternoon, the game, thankfully, being played in one of the dry spells between heavy downloads.
Both team took a while to dust of the cobwebs and it was the visitors that got into their stride the quicker with Bradley McNamara opening the scoring with a break down the right after 15 minutes to give Instonians a 0 – 7 lead after Andrew Keane added the extras.

Keane steeped up seven minutes later for this second conversion to take the score to 0 – 14 after Schalk van Der Merwe rumbled over from close range following an attacking lineout.
