We caught up with the U15 Girls Tournament Finals at Portadown Ladies hockey Club on Sunday. The tournament featured 10 teams; Sevenoaks HC from England, Kelso HC from Scotland, Avoca HC, Corinthian HC, Genesis HC and Old Alex HC from Southern Ireland and Coleraine HC, Mossley HC, Pegasus HC and Portadown from Northern Ireland.
The teams had already played two days of round robin group matches and we caught up with the play off stages on Sunday. All games were played over two twenty minute halves.
5th – 8th Crossover: Old Alex 5 Kelso 1
Old Alex controlled this crossover match scoring three goals in the first half.
A much improved Kelso pulled one back in the second half but Alex added two more to their total for a 5 – 1 win.
9th Place Play Off: Avoca 7 Genesis 0
Avoca had early success with a couple of penalty corners and they went on to go 4 – 0 up at half time.
