On Saturday afternoon, Scottish side, Marr RFC, were the visitors to Deramore Park to play Belfast Harlequins in a preseason friendly. Marr, from Troon, play in Scottish Premiership and would provide a tough test for Quins over 3 x 25 minute periods.

In the opening minutes both sides tested defences. Marr were first to settle forcing Quins back into their 22. A stubborn Quins defence held out, until Isaac Renucchi crashed over from close range, beside the posts. Callum Inglis’ conversion had Marr 7-0 up in 18 minutes.
Quins responded with a Harry Palmer try, after 25 minutes for Marr to hold a 7-5 lead at the end of the first period.
In the second period Marr consolidated their lead. A Ruairdh Anderson try and conversion, after 43 minutes, followed by a Ross Maiden try, converted by Grant Baird had Marr leading 21-5 . . .
