Neilsbrook Park, home of Randalstown RFC, was the venue for the Junior Interprovincial Championship decider, between Ulster Juniors and Leinster Juniors. Ulster, with 2 wins from 2, and a maximum of 10 points faced Leinster with 1 win from 2 and 7 points, on a hot, sunny, spring afternoon.

In a tentative start Ulster and Leinster swapped early penalty goals. Ulster took a 4th minute lead, through Eddie Keyes, with Leinster equalising on 15 minutes, from Craig Miller’s boot.
Ulster regained the lead in the with a Keys’ penalty goal, after 18 minutes, before Tiernan Gonnelly crossed under the posts for Leinster, on 24 minutes. Miller’s conversion put Leinster 10-6 up.
