On Saturday, at Stormont, in game one of a triple header on the ‘water based pitch’ Lisnagarvey II met Northern Ireland Civil Service II in the final of the McClements Cup.

For almost the entire 1st half Lisnagarvey were in charge. They dominated territory and possession, creating numerous chances but failing to take any of them. NICS lived off scraps with few ventures into the Garvey half.

All that changed on the stroke of halftime. Josh Fiddis converted a penalty corner to give NICS an unlikely 1-0 halftime lead.
