On Saturday afternoon game three of a triple header, at the Kingspan Stadium, saw Limavady take on Lurgan in the Junior Shield Final. Though still a strong wind, Storm Kathleen would not dominate the game as it had in the previous 2 games. Mercifully the rain still held off.
Neither team could settle and for the first quarter it was nip and tuck, as both teams sought to dominate.

From a promising attack, John Purcell burst though tackles to dot down midway out, on the left. Ben Howe’s conversion had Limavady 7-0 up, after 27 minutes.
Lurgan replied after 33 minutes, when Ben McIlwaine got over, on the left. Martin Connolly nailed the conversion to tie . . .
