The third Ulster Hockey club final at Stormont on Saturday featured Armagh Hockey Club against Castle Hockey Club in the women’s Junior Plate Final.
Armagh got on the front foot early in this game with the bulk of the action in the Castle half. The pressure eventually told and Gabriella Moore opened the scoring when she diverted a cross from the left past the Castle keeper.
Castle were largely out gunned but they continued to work hard throughout the game and they got their reward when a strike from Aoife Burgess was deflected past the Armagh defenders to take the score to 1 – 1 as the teams went into the second half.
