It was a tense game at Belmont on Saturday afternoon as Championship 1 side CIYMS hosted Championship 2 side Randalstown in a promotion-relegation playoff.
CI were the only scorers in the first half with Paddy Beverland slotting over a penalty 15 minutes in for a 3 – 0 lead at half time.

Randalstown pulled it back to 3 – 3 at the start of the second half with a penalty from Eoin Letters.
CI went back in front five minutes later as captain Mark Scott reached for the line for the opening try. The conversion was unsuccessful which left the score at 8 – 3 in CI’s favour with 30 minutes . . .
