I caught up with the U16 Club-School Blitz at Roughfort on Saturday morning which featured teams from Academy, Ballyclare, Ballymoney, Belfast Harlequins, Carrickfergus, and CIYMS.
With three matches being played concurrently I was only able to catch up with four of the sides so apologies to Ballyclare and Ballymoney.
In the first round I caught up with Academy and CIYMS in a close game in exceptionally windy conditions which saw Academy win 12 – 10.
Academy’s points came from tries from Josh Gibson and Ruben Gurley with the all important conversion from Jake Beacon. CI responded with tris from Connor McKinley and Owen Wilson.

In the second round I caught the match between Belfast Harlequins and Carrickfergus on Pitch 2. There was no let up in the strong wind from Storm Kathleen but it didn’t . . .
