On Saturday, Queens II played Instonians II in a McCrea Cup Semi Final at The Dub, Upper Malone.

Neither side were able to manage a 1st half score in a full blooded cup tie, in which no quarter was asked nor given. At times an underlying feistiness caused tensions to erupt.
A series of Queens forward drive close to the Inst line sucked in defenders and when the ball was flung clear, Noah McCloskey scrambled over in the left corner for the opening try. Queens led 5-0, after 49 minutes.
Inst replied with an Andrew Keane penalty goal after 54 minutes to bring the scores back to 3-5.
