I caught up with the Ulster Hockey Junior 7 Women’s match between Owls 3rd XI and Dungannon 3rd XI at Roughfort early Saturday afternoon.

It was a lively match with Owls pressing from the start. It took Dungannon a while to work their way into the match but they started to make a few breaks up field as the 1st quarter wore on. However the teams went into the second quarter with the score at 0 – 0.

Dungannon’s Emma Arthur came closest to scoring in the first half.

The visitors came closest to scoring in the second quarter after an impressive run down the right by Emma Arthur ended with her shot hitting the upright leaving the game still scoreless as we went into the second half.
