I caught up with the Ballyclare High and Foyle College in a Schools Bowl semi final match at Rashee Road on Thursday afternoon.
The weather turned for the worse just before kick off and the match started in a cold drizzle and strong wind. With the wind behind them, Ballyclare High had the better of the opening exchanges but the Foyle teams defended well and eventually worked their way out of their own half with some good interplay down the right wing.
The deadlock was broken on the 26th minute when Ballyclare took advantage of a 5 meter line out to send Ben Vance over in the opposite corner for a 0 – 5 lead.
