With three of our Featured Clubs with teams competing in Provincial East we dropped into Belmont to check on the progress of CIYMS 2nd XV who had a chance to go top in Phase 2 in their game against Dungannon 3rd XV.
CI got off to a flyer after lock Mike Keon burst through the Dungannon defensive line to touch down under the posts less than two minutes from the kick off. Scrum half Ethan Biggerstaff easily converted giving CI a 7 – 0 lead.
Dungannon were not afforded any time to settle before CI centre Ricky Kirkwood broke from midfield and got CI’s second try in the corner after fending off attention from the Dungannon’s back three. to push the score along to 12 – 0 . . .
