I caught up with the Medallion Shield match between The Royal School Armagh and Omagh Academy on Saturday morning at College Hill.
Having left the tropical Larne early Saturday to catch a hockey match before the rugby I arrived at the school around 9am to find the hockey pitch frozen. However the Medallion Shield match was able to go ahead on the main pitch.
It was a game, if not quite of two halfs, certainly one of two distinct phases.

Omagh certainly had the better of the first half as they kept Armagh pinned in their own territory for the first 25 minutes. However, some determined defence and a few dropped passes saw the scoreboard untroubled until the 26th minute when Omagh’s . . .
