With three of our scheduled hockey matches cancelled due to frozen pitches I decided to return to tropical Larne on Saturday afternoon to catch up with my favourite girls of Larne Hockey 2nd XI who were up against, one of our Featured Clubs, Banbridge Hockey 2nd XI in a Junior 2 top of the table clash.
It was a cagey and physical game from the start as 3rd hosted 1st in Junior 2. Both sides looked to attack for an early advantage but it was Banbridge who got the opening goal late in the first quarter with Lois Lyttle calmly driving a chance in from the edge of the D to give Banbridge a 0 – 1 lead.
