My final match on Saturday was the All Ireland Cup group match between Cooke and Glawegians at Newforge on Saturday evening.
Unfortunately the lights at Newforge are not balanced giving it a well lit center but poor lighting down both sides and very poor at either end.
Galwegians got off to the best of starts pounding at the Cooke line for most of the opening ten minutes. Cooke defended well and a couple of bustling runs from Gemma McCambley nought them some respite but the defence was eventually broken when Sinead O’Brien went over out wide to take the score to 0 – 5 at the end of the first quarter.
