On damp overcast Friday morning, the last day of term, Regent House were the visitors to Lisburn, to play Friends School in the 3rd round of the Medallion Shield.

For long periods the 1st half was stalemate. Defences were on top and neither side could assert themselves. Play was largely confined to between the 22s. Eventually Friends won a lineout on the 5 metre line. A ploy to the front of the lineout saw Joel Irwin take the ball and crash over on 28 minutes for a 5-0 halftime lead.
After the break play was much the same before Zak McMinn’s penalty goal reduced the deficit to 3-5.
