Ulster University Elks welcomed UCD to Jordanstown Sports Village for a Women’s All Ireland League match on Saturday afternoon.

Elks started strongly and they opened the scoring midway through the first half with a deflected penalty corner strike by captain, Beth Harper.

All action captain Beth Harper picked up a hat-trick for the Elks against UCD.

Almost immediately, Elks broke away again and an onrushing goalkeeper upended Gabby Scott to concede a penalty stroke. Captain Harper stepped up again to coolly slot home, increasing Elk’s lead to 2 – 0 at the end of the first quarter.
