On Saturday afternoon, at The Dub, Queens faced Buccaneers, who had faced the journey, up from Athlone, in AIL1B.
Queens took the lead in the 11th minute, through a James Humphreys penalty goal for a 3-0 lead. On 14 minutes he doubled the lead with another penalty goal.

Buccaneers responded with a Michael Hanley penalty goal on 16 minutes, before a Conor O’Shaughnessy try, converted by Hanley, gave them a 10-6 lead.
Hanley’s 23rd minute penalty goal put Buccaneers out to 13 -6.
A 35th minute Humphreys penalty goal by Humphreys pulled Queens back 9-13, before another Hanley penalty goal gave Buccaneers a 16-7 halftime lead.
